Hubert H. Lee, the former chief design officer of Mercedes-Benz China, has been named executive vice president (EVP) and leader of Samsung Electronics' MX (Mobile eXperience) design team. In a blog post, Samsung claims Lee has more than two decades of design and leadership experience.
Lee was recognised at Mercedes-Benz for overseeing a large number of design initiatives and received various honours for his management of the company's design teams in China and the United States. The MX design team, which is in charge of producing Galaxy devices such as the S Series, Z Series, Galaxy Tab, Galaxy Watch, and others, will report to Lee in his new role at Samsung.
According to the company, his new perspective will "define the look and feel of Galaxy, building on the distinctive design ethos that consumers know and love." "Samsung is known for producing some of the most exquisite goods with designs that have revolutionised the mobile industry," says Lee. "I am delighted to join a firm at the forefront of mobile innovation and lead the team in charge of developing innovative mobile experiences through the art of design," he added.
